Sooha & Andrew | Kirtlington Park
What a joy it was to photograph Sooha and Andrew’s Kirtlington park summer wedding! Set in an 18 century Palladium mansion with acres of parkland, Kirtlington Park leaves you with a great first impression with its long driveway leading you up to the splendour of the house. I had met Sooha and Andrew at their pre-wedding engagement shoot in Bath and knew they would be great fun! I started the day with the Sooha and the girls who were busy under the guidance of hair stylists Richard Ellis and Becky Crawford and makeup artist Kate Walker. This is a chance for me to get a flavour of the mood of the day and start to see the interactions between people. My style of photography is one that lets things happen as they would naturally, nothing is forced. I want to show a true story of the day. So it was great to see the girls carrying on and joking around as if I wasn’t there!
I headed over to the nearby Dashwood Arms to see Andrew and his ushers getting ready putting the finishing touches to the ties and suits. The wedding ceremony was held in the Saloon at Kirtlington, which has great views across to the Chiltern Hills. Emotions ran high as Sooha made her entrance in her exquisite Pronovias wedding dress and bouquet by Daisies Flower Shop. A nice personal touch to the ceremony was the singing and music, which you can see more of in the slideshow. The newlyweds were welcomed on to rear lawns at Kirtlington for their wedding reception. Garden games, acoustic music performances and an ice cream stall kept everyone entertained!
Unposed Wedding Photography
It was lovely to take the Bride and Groom off for some photos together. Most people think a photo shoot is all about posing for the camera and looking a certain way. I disagree! I think it should be a chance to relax, have fun and have genuine moments that mean something captured. Moments that show the relationship you have with each other. These are created by giving couple things to do, chat about and games to play. The focus moves away form the camera and allows you to enjoy some time hanging out. As you’ll see Sooha and Andrew were able to be themselves completely 
Speeches went down a treat in the stunning Great Hall before the wedding breakfast was served by Passion for Food. I loved photographing everyone playing ‘Gin Face’, the mother of the bride has a great poker face as you’ll see! With it being such fine summer’s day there was a beautiful golden hour light later on, which rounded off the day perfectly, before it was back inside to party the night away to awesome band Night Shift!
