Sarah & Lee, Pennard House

Vintage-inspired Pennard House Wedding with Outdoor Ceremony

Sarah and Lee knocked it out of the park with their Summer wedding at the exquisite Grade II listed Pennard House near Shepton Mallet. Located in extensive private grounds, Pennard House is a wedding venue that ticks all the boxes with its chilled vibe and awesome styling and is a fantastic place to host weddings in Somerset.

Sarah’s beautiful Jenny Packham dress suited her perfectly and the hair and makeup team at Lipstick and Curls nailed her flawless vintage-inspired look. I loved the gorgeous flower crown and bouquet which complimented Sarah’s rose tattoo. The flower girls also had matching flower crowns and looked adorable.

Unposed, Natural Wedding Photography

My approach to photographing all weddings is to capture the feeling of the day. I do this with a documentary style that enables you and your friends and family members to just carry on as normal. I want you to be yourself and relax. I hope it ends up feeling as though I am just another friend at your wedding. Check out my wedding photography reception gallery to get a good idea of how I capture this part of the day!

When it comes to the portrait images, lots of couples get nervous or worried it’s going to be about posing and fake smiles. Don’t worry, that is the opposite of what I hope you’ll experience with me! I use a method that focuses very much on the feeling and allowing you to be in the moment. By creating a space for you to be yourself I can capture what your relationship is like. This means real smiles, real connection and genuine moments of tenderness.

Super Styling at Pennard House

With a sponge wedding cake to die for created by Queen Bee and effortlessly cool styling in the Coach House by the Pennard House team, the scene was set for the reception and evening party. Caroline Gent catering delivered a veritable feast for the guests which tasted as good as it looked.

But the day didn’t just look good, it felt good!

There was a really positive atmosphere and everyone was in a jubilant mood that these two had found each other and were tying the knot. You couldn’t have asked for a better day to hold the outdoor wedding ceremony on the lawns at Pennard House. It’s such a great option and still fairly rare to find a venue that offers an outside legal place for weddings. And don’t worry if it rains, you can still hold your ceremony inside.

I particularly enjoyed capturing photos with the gorgeous evening golden hour light it gave Sarah and Lee another chance to spend some quality time together, this time with bubbles to play with!

Review of Wedding Photography at Pennard House

I love hearing what Bride and Groom’s have to say about their wedding photography experience with me and here are Sarah and Lee’s (view more testimonials here):

“We were over the moon with our photographs from Simon, everything about them was perfect. He captured all of our favourite moments without being obtrusive, and in our couple shots he made us feel completely comfortable and at ease, I think these were some of our best memories from the day. Our families absolutely love the photos, and the slideshow sneak peek made so many people cry! We were amazed at how quickly we got out pictures, and how incredible they were. Thank you Simon, you’re awesome and worth absolutely every penny.”

Being a Pennard House wedding photographer is always a pleasure, below are a few of my favourites from Sarah and Lee’s awesome wedding day.
