Froginwell Devon Wedding

What a dream it was Kirsty and Ben ‘s Froginwell Vineyard wedding photographer! With good weather and good times a plenty! Devon weddings are always a favourite for me, it’s just a short trip over the border from my home country of Somerset to enjoy this stunning part of the South West.

“Simon did an amazing job capturing our wedding day from start to finish. So many people have commented on how great the photographs are. The 4k slideshow is brilliant, as it captured the day as it unfolded, including all the emotions and special parts of our day. We loved his natural style, professionalism and how he blended in. We are so glad we chose him to photograph our day as we love the pictures and can’t recommend him enough.” Kirsty & Ben

The day started out in Sidmouth and I caught up with the boys and girls for the getting ready stages. The atmosphere was relaxed, the girls were under the expert eye of Rosanne Derryman who styled their hair and makeup artist Liz Parkins. Bride Kirsty still managed to take on-board some scrambled eggs in the middle of all this, you’ve got to keep the engine fuelled! Kirsty looked incredible in her stunning wedding dress by Prudence Gowns of Exeter with bouquet by Winsor Flower Studio, Exminster. Groom Ben and his two ushers didn’t look too bad either in dapper Moss suits.

The ceremony at St Giles and St Nicholas Church was beautiful and I loved that the newlyweds drove off in the car themselves, you don’t see that so often nowadays! We stopped off by Connaught Gardens for some photos and then headed to Froginwell Vineyard for the wedding reception. It was lovely to get a chance to capture images of the Bride and Groom being themselves in unposed moments, something I specialise in. You can read more about my approach to photographing the wedding day here.

Party Time at Froginwell Vineyard

With the sun blazing it wasn’t too long before the Kanye West style party sunglasses came out during the wedding reception. There were some ultra competitive action over at the coconut shy! Froginwell has a wonderful atmosphere inside and it provided a fitting setting for the wedding breakfast provided by Dartmoor Kitchen and speeches. With golden hour approaching, I took Kirsty and Ben for a walk down the vineyard to the meadow and let them enjoy some time together away to reflect on the day.

After that it was party time! And wow do this lot definitely know how to party! There were great tunes blasted out by band Soul Fresh. I’ve never seen such impressive creativity with glow sticks, check out the jump rope! All in all fantastic day. Enjoy these highlights below and do check out the slideshow for even more.
