The lovely Jo and Rob celebrated their wedding at Wick Farm in Farleigh Hungerford after a ceremony at St Swithin’s Church in Bath. It was a perfect Autumn day and the earlier rain moved away in time for and outdoor drinks reception and joyous celebrations into the evening.
I started the morning capturing the Bridal squad getting ready. Jo was super chilled and looked gorgeous in her wedding dress by Lace and Grace. The wedding flowers and bouquets were provided by Louisa Du Rose of Bohemian Blooms.
Rob and the boys were busy welcoming guests at St Swithin’s Church when I arrived. They looked very sharp in suits by Moss Bros. There is a great sense of space and light inside the Grade II listed St Swithin’s which interestingly was also the setting for abolitionist William Wilberforce’s wedding on 30 May 1797.
The celebrations and reception continued at Wick Farm. This 17th century former threshing barn sits within 37 acres surrounded by stunning countryside. Formerly used by the monks at Hinton Priory it is now a magnificent setting for a wedding.
Jo and Rob held their drinks reception at The Lower Barn with its decking area overlooking the duck pond. I took the newlyweds for a stroll around some of the barns for some couple time photos and it was lovely to see their connection and love. It’s important to me that this session is as natural and relaxed as the rest of the day and is core to my approach to how I shoot a wedding day.
We then moved through for the wedding breakfast and speeches in the Upper Barn. This stunningly restored space can cater for up to 130 wedding guests who can admire the 600-year-old beams as they dine on fine food from Strawberry Fields. I love the Minstral’s gallery which gives a great perspective on the proceedings below and is a great chill-out area.
Band Hand Fulla Soul got the party started and didn’t let up ensuring a full dance floor into the night. A great celebration and I can’t wait to be back to capture more memorable moments as a Wick farm wedding photographer soon!
