I am delighted you are looking for a Bath Wedding Photographer because this means you are getting married and that’s huge news, congratulations! I live in Bath and think the World Heritage city is one of the most beautiful places in the country. With experience photographing weddings across Bath and in Somerset my relaxed style resonates with couples who want the freedom to enjoy their wedding day without worrying about the camera.
I have been a wedding photographer in Bath for many years. I have captured hundreds of couples tying the knot across the UK and abroad.
My photography style is documentary or sometimes called reportage. This just means you don’t need to think about the camera! I will capture the real emotion and feeling of your big day. My goal is to make it feel like there’s just another guest at your wedding, someone you feel relaxed around and allows you to just enjoy the day!
It is really important to me I capture all the small moments that make up the real story of your day. Find out more about my approach to photographing weddings.
There are many wonderful Bath venues to hold a memorable wedding at. There is incredible Georgian architecture everywhere you look. You may choose a civil ceremony at the Registry Office at Bath Guildhall. It has a multitude of rooms to cater for intimate and large weddings, including the gorgeous Banqueting Room.
Close by you’ll find Parade Gardens sited next to the River Avon which has unrivalled views of Pulteney Bridge. The bandstand in the pretty floral gardens has a license for legal wedding ceremonies as well. I love taking couples for a wander through the back streets on a pre-wedding shoot and we often end up walking along the canal or over to Victoria Park.
Looking for somewhere to get married with a little more wow factor? The Assembly Rooms are unbeatable for sheer scale and the Ballroom is the largest Georgian interior space in Bath! John Wood the Younger designed this magnificent building in 1769 and it offers wonderful space for couples to celebrate their special day.
Weddings at the Pump Rooms and Roman Baths are one of a kind venue that gives you an iconic backdrop with a rich history to match. If you are an art lover you can take over the Victoria Art Gallery and be surrounded by Gainsborough and Sickert whilst you say your vows.
Perhaps you like to feel more part of nature? I love photographing weddings at the Temple Minerva in the Botanical Gardens of Victoria Park for their intimacy. You can then enjoy a drinks reception on the lawns and wander the beautiful gardens which look stunning year-round.
Several impressive Bath hotels can offer you a dream wedding including Bailbrook House Hotel and Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel and these have the advantage of accommodating all your friends and family so you can party late into the night!
Further afield Bath offers Bride and Grooms a wealth of gorgeous venues from the likes of Homewood Park, Priston Mill, Wick Farm, Orchardleigh Estate and Elmhay Park. All these venues I have experience photographing weddings at and can offer you advice and tips to make the most of your celebrations.
Many if not most of the couples that I work with will tell me that they are dreading the ‘photo shoot’. They think it will be a cheesy, posed and awkward experience. I need to say right now I agree with you! This is what you can expect from the majority of wedding photographers. Most will presume that if something looks good through their lens, then that is good enough. I disagree. I want it to feel as good as it looks. I want the experience of having your photo taken to feel as fun, natural and most importantly, be a true representation of who you are as a couple. You’ll be able to relax and be yourself, engaging with each other rather than posing for the camera. By giving you a space in which to be yourself and giving you things to do that help focus your attention on each other, I can capture real moments and genuine emotions.
Please take some time to explore recent weddings on the blog I have shot to get more of a feel for my style and approach. If you are after wedding photography that puts real moments first then you’re in the right place!
