Maunsel House Wedding Venue
Maunsel House, Somerset
I love shooting weddings at Maunsel House in Somerset. I’ll be honest, it’s one of my favourites, not least because I got married here myself back in 2010! It gets better every time I go back and everyone that chooses to get married at Maunsel tells me some of the same reasons that we chose it namely that you get to take over the whole house and accompanying cottages which enables loads of your friends and family to stay on site meaning the partying could keep long into the night!
Maunsel House has a magnificent driveway leading to the main house which is set in over 100 acres of parkland. There’s an abundance of animals from peacocks to ponies to encounter and the gardens are huge. Inside the house your breath may be taken away as Sir Benjamin Slade’s vast collections make themselves known in every room. The bar is well stocked, not just a wide variety of alcohol but with historical weaponry and all manor of strange and curious antiquities, a spark for many conversations!
Getting ready for your wedding at Maunsel House may see you in the glorious King’s Room or stately Lady Slade. One of the stand out features of Maunsel weddings is that you can do everything outside: get married, have your canapés and drinks reception and eat your wedding breakfast. The bandstand provides a place for legal ceremonies and the pergola has space for 220 seated guests. It’s a great feature that there is also the ability to have the sides down and heaters on if it gets a little cold! The wet weather option for both ceremony and eating is in the elegant main dining room.
