Coworth Park Wedding Photographer

Coworth Park | Rachel & Dan

I was delighted when Rachel and Dan asked me to be their Coworth Park wedding photographer. This luxurious 5-star hotel sits on the edge of Windsor Great Park and is off-the-scale awesome. What a treat I was in for at my first visit to this stunning wedding venue! Coworth Park’s Georgian manor house is set in 200 acres of parkland and provides ample opportunity for wedding photography, both inside and out. With it being a beautiful summer’s day, the wedding ceremony was held in the wildflower meadow.

Rachel and Dan kept their wedding day to immediate family and friends. Small and intimate weddings are proving more and more popular and have a special appeal for their focus on the things about a wedding that matter.

“Simon photographed our Wedding at Coworth park in Ascot in August, he also photographed my brother’s wedding two years ago, so came well recommended! Simon captured our wedding beautifully and made us feel completely comfortable throughout the day. He uses a great relaxed and fun approach enabling him to get some brilliant natural shots of us all.

Communication was fantastic from our initial booking, right the way through to sending our 5 minute highlights reel just a week after our wedding. I would highly recommend, Simon he’s a top guy and fantastic photographer” Rachel

Rachel held her pre wedding preparations in one of the incredible suites that over looks the meadow and polo fields beyond. These rooms are sheer luxury and the large windows provide good light for photography. It was great to have the children as part of the day; they often help ease nerves and provide light entertainment! Generally, kids just ignore the camera as well, and capturing them in their own little world is lovely.

I also went to catch up with Dan in one of the cottage suites, where he looked very dapper in his tailored suit. He then made his way over to the meadow to welcome guests and wait for his soon-to-be wife arrive for the wedding ceremony!

After Rachel had made the finishing adjustments to her gorgeous dress, she was ready to see her Dad. I love capturing this kind of unposed moment. With the bridal party all set, it was time to get married!

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

Being a wedding photographer in the UK, I have to be ready to deal with all types of weather conditions. Luckily for the bride and groom, we were in the middle of a dry spell and the weather gods looked kindly on this summer wedding. In fact, if anything, we could have done with some more sun cream!

Set amongst the ten-acre attractive wild flower meadow sits the bandstand where outdoor weddings take place. There was not only birdsong in the air but the sweet harmonies of a harp to welcome guests. As the bridal party made their entrance, everyone did a collective sigh at the sight of the Rachel and Dan’s daughter as a flower girl. Their son was the honorary ring bearer and took great pride in his role. Rings can prove tricky to put on fingers in the heat, but there were no problems today and with the register signing complete, it was time for confetti before heading over to the Rose Garden for drinks. With a world-class service, you feel very special when you visit Coworth Park.

Coworth Park Weddings

The Rose Garden is a wonderful setting, particularly as the shady nooks it provides were a welcome reprieve from the hot sun! Drinks and refreshments were served and guests congratulated the happy couple. After a few family group shots I was able to take the newlyweds off for some photos nearby. The charming Sunken Gardens were a delightful find and the avenue of trees provided a great backdrop. The fantastic mirror-like water feature on the terrace was a great find! My couple sessions aim to be time for people to relax and have fun. Even if someone hates having their picture taken, by using a series of games and interactions I help move the focus from the camera to each other. Making it an experience that feels good means that the resulting images convey a sense of value and meaning. I try and capture the connection between people. Something that shows a part of their relationship.

The Oak Room held the intimate wedding breakfast. This room is aptly named due to its jaw-dropping copper leaf sculpture hanging from the ceiling. There are also oak leaf plaster reliefs and Georgian-style skirting and cornicing. With the guests seated and a fine meal consumed, the speeches commenced and were a fitting end to the day.
