A Relaxed Wedding Celebration at The Farm Camp

Fancy a wedding day that does’t go with traditions? Then you’re in the right place! Lizzie and Eddy had a dream wedding day in two stunning locations: Temple Minvera in Bath (Heritage Park Weddings) or the ceremony and The Farm Camp Winsley for the celebrations and party.

They didn’t want a traditional wedding venue as Lizzie says, “We were looking for something a bit different in a wedding venue, something relaxed and a bit wild to reflect our passion for the outdoors. From the moment we drove down the bumpy track to the Farm Camp, we knew it was the perfect spot for us. Remote, quiet, beautifully basic, and just a bit magic.”

And Lizzie goes on to say how helpful the family-owned site was, ‘The owner Tim was so welcoming and we fell in love with the place instantly, even better was the fact we were able to rent out the entire camp for a few days and spend the entire weekend enjoying time with our friends and family, the kids loved being able to run wild around the camp too. Ours was the first wedding hosted at the Farm Camp and we feel so lucky that Tim took a punt on us and let us use his beautiful venue for our wedding.”

A Family-friendly Wedding Day

It was important for the couple that the whole day was relaxed and fun with a focus on the outdoor experience. There was delicious food and great music. They wanted the kids to feel welcome at the wedding too, so they made lots of effort to ensure there were fun activities for them too. The picnic in the Botanical Gardens after the ceremony was a nice way for the families to spread out all the blankets and share the childcare duties!

French Style Meets English Cuisine

Lizzie’s simply divine wedding dress from French atelier Laure De Sagazan was complimented by the three flower girls who had matching outfits. Lizzie had the experience of Abi Blake to help with her hairstyling and Flowers by Passion provided the floristry throughout the day including the bride’s bouquet.

Don’t miss what must be the best wedding BBQ ever which took place in the woods at The Farm Camp. Sean in the Woods and his team had been slow-cooking the entire wedding breakfast and guests even got to bake their own bread!

Dancing Under The Stars

The wedding breakfast and speeches were held in the incredible wooden dining space. I love that you can look up an see the the sky thorough the centre! The open-sided canvas tent provided a perfect place for everyone to party the night away to band Agent Funk.

“We couldn’t have asked for anything more from a wedding photographer, Simon was incredible. So easy to work with, super professional, discreet, friendly and relaxed, he captured the most perfect photos of our day from start to finish. It’s made us so happy to have such beautiful memories to look back on and share with our guests. Thank you Simon.”

More From the Bride and Groom:

1. TELL US MORE ABOUT YOU BOTH

Eddy and I work hard but we play hard too, we spend most of our free time outdoors, and always love a new adventure. If we get the chance you’ll usually find us in the mountains (hiking, climbing, running, skiing or biking), or by the sea (sailing, swimming or paddle-boarding). Though the most important thing to us in the world is our little girl Amelie, our friends and family.

2. THE PROPOSAL: HOW DID IT HAPPEN, WHAT’S THE STORY?

Eddy proposed exactly 10 years after our first date! We were ski touring in Colorado at the time and had just spent the night in one of the 10th Mountain Division Huts, we were skiing back down from the hut and Eddy stopped to ask me what the time was, then totally took me by surprise by asking me to marry him, I didn’t stop smiling for days.

3. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SIMON BIFFEN TO PHOTOGRAPH YOUR WEDDING?

We’ve known Simon as a friend for a few years and as soon as we started wedding planning, we knew we wanted Simon to be our photographer, he was the first person we called, before we had even booked our venue. Having been to a few of our friend’s weddings which Simon also photographed, we knew he would capture beautiful photos, be discreet, and make us and all of our guests instantly feel at ease.

5. WHAT WERE THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM YOUR DAY?

We genuinely didn’t stop smiling the entire day, the whole day was incredible, the ceremony was emotional and beautiful, the reception and speeches were amazing, the food was cooked over open fire in the woods and it was so good, we loved all of it!

6. TIPS FOR FUTURE COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Break the rule book, do what you want, don’t feel pressured into doing things you don’t want to do. It’s your day, so do what makes you happy and make it ‘you’. On the day just relax and enjoy every moment smile
