Bronwen and Andrew’s Summer Wedding at St Donat’s Castle
Bronwen & Andrew // St Donat’s Castle
When it comes to idyllic summer weddings, Bronwen and Andrew’s celebration at St Donat’s Castle are where it’s at! With a backdrop that boasts both historical grandeur and stunning seaside views, their special day couldn’t be more perfect.
Bronwen looked every bit the radiant bride in her exquisite Pronovias gown, capturing the essence of timeless elegance. Andrew was equally dashing in his tailored Faverbrook suit, perfectly complemented by his ushers donning Neal and Palmer attire. The bride’s beautiful look was completed thanks to the expert skills of Janet White-Ashby, who worked her magic with hair and makeup, ensuring that Bronwen felt as fabulous as she looked.
The ceremony, held at St Cadoc’s Church in Pendoylan had personal touches with readings by family and friends. There was plenty of opportunity for some fine Welsh singing and you couldn’t get a better getaway car than a replica James Bond Aston Martin DB7!
St Donat’s Castle, nestled on the spectacular coast of the Vale of Glamorgan, is a venue steeped in history. Originally built in the 12th century, this majestic castle has witnessed centuries of history unfold within its ancient walls. Once owned by the American newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, it’s renowned not only for its architectural beauty but also for its illustrious past, which includes hosting guests such as Charlie Chaplin and Winston Churchill. The castle’s romantic ambiance and picturesque setting provided a perfect backdrop for Bronwen and Andrew’s wedding reception.
Floral arrangements by Rolfe’s added a splash of natural beauty to the venue. The vibrant blooms provided a romantic and fragrant accompaniment to the castle’s historic stone walls. Guests were treated to a culinary experience courtesy of Town and Country Caterers. Their delectable offerings ensured that everyone was well-fed and delighted from start to finish.
Music played a central role in creating the wedding’s enchanting atmosphere. The Cambria String Quartet serenaded guests with classical tunes during the day, while the lively Ceilidh band, Lochnagar, took over in the evening, encouraging everyone onto the dance floor.
The weather was picture perfect all day and it even blessed us with some of that golden hour magic we all cross our fingers and toes for to finish things off wonderfully!
