Wedding Photographer Greentrees Estate, West Sussex

Sophie & Ryan // Greentrees Estate

“We just want to have a big party really with a relaxed vibe”

This is what Sophie and Ryan said they wanted from their day when they got in touch with me and my oh my that sure was how it felt! Being Sophie and Ryan’s wedding photographer at Greentrees Estate in West Sussex was an honour and so much fun! Autumn weddings are always some of my favourite, with the turning of the season comes added colour, gorgeous light and often the right temperature to have many parts of the day outside still. With exclusive use at Greentrees Estate you have the whole place to get ready, get married, drink, eat and party on down! It was my first time here and I hope it won’t be my last. There are ample spaces inside and out for guests to flow between and I loved the formal garden which led to the lawns and lake below.

“We couldn’t be happier that we chose Simon to be our photographer at our Greentrees Estate wedding. From the initial contact with him he was accommodating, professional and always found the time to answer any questions we had. On the day, Simon was amazing. We hardly noticed he was there but somehow he managed to capture all aspects of the day and all guests were included."

Sophie and the girls got ready on site at the Oak suite and Amy Brint did a fab job with hair and makeup. With a bridal dress designed by Stella York from Helena Fortley’s bridal boutique Sophie looked stunning. Florist Made With Grace added the finishing touching with elegant bouquets. The boys, after getting themselves together and milling around one of the ushers’ prized Ferrari nipped off down to the local pub for a swift pint to settle the nerves. They were back in time to welcome guests and be ready for the civil ceremony in the Grand Oak Hall at Greentrees Estate. This light filled space had added drapes by To Have & to Hire Events and trees provided by Cloudtree Events. Videographer Kean Booth expertly filmed the whole day.

It is always a joy to witness that first kiss as the couple seal the marriage in front of cheering friends and family. Confetti followed outside the walled garden and the drinks and canapés caterers Taste kept everyone topped up. I took the couple off for a wander around the grounds after getting the group shots done and I helped forget about the camera and have just hang out together.

“He made everyone feel at ease, especially the couple photos for us. There was no forced posing from us, Simon made this part of the day feel like a very special time for myself and my husband to be together. He made us feel very relaxed and captured moments of true laughter and love. The photos are incredible!”

On my return with the couple we had some outdoor speeches, always a great option if you can make it work! Always feels more relaxed although I had to hop over quite few low hedges to move around the walled garden during them! Once everyone was inside the party started with a napkin-waving, hollering crowd eager to welcome the newlyweds to their wedding breakfast. A few more speeches before food though, which also saw the father of the bride accidentally drop and crack his iPad making his speech impossible to read, no problem though, a printed copy saved the day!

It was great to take Sophie and Ryan off for a break during a lovely bit of golden sun before the party really got started. The wedding band Clique did this brilliantly and the Greentrees Estate’s Grand Oak Hall once again served as the perfect space to dance the night away. The Pizza Post kept everyone fuelled for more dancing and I when said my goodbyes I made sure to grab a tasty wood-fired slice to see me home.

Thank you Sophie and Ryan for having me photograph your stunning Greentrees Estate wedding. Do scroll down for a taste of what their day looked like. For more West Sussex wedding photography check out this Gravetye Manor wedding.

"Our guests have told us they’re the best wedding photos they’ve seen. They’ve captured our day, our vibe and energy perfectly and I’m so thrilled that we have the most amazing photos to look back on forever. We can’t thank and recommend Simon enough.”
