Oxleaze Barn Wedding Photography

Myra & Duncan // Oxleaze Barn

Set in the heart of the Cotswolds Myra and Duncan’s wedding at Oxleaze Barn is a fantastic choice for a charming countryside wedding venue. As part of the larger Ozleaze Farm, an organically run family farm for three generations, the focus here is on sustainability and working with, not against the land, resulting in a rich biodiversity alongside long-term productivity.

Myra and Duncan’s Oxleaze Barn wedding in June was a joy to photograph (and I also made a hybrid wedding film! Check it out on my hybrid video page) showcase for utilising the available spaces here. The bridal side were based in the elegantly converted Dutch Barn for morning preparations. With Lisa Murphy taking care of hair and make up, Myra’s look was finished with a beautiful Suzanne Neville dress from Bridal Reloved in Tring (alterations by seamstress Joanna Roberts. The boys who turned up ready to go having got ready at home and Duncan looked sharp in a suit from Walter’s of Oxford. With around 50 guests their wedding was all about celebrating with close friends and family. With the sun shining the courtyard provided the perfect setting for the wedding ceremony and Vine String Quartet added their delicate sound at key points in the service.

The confetti tunnel welcomed the newlyweds into the wedding drinks reception held in Oxleaze Barn’s courtyard and gardens. After I had explained the rules of croquet to guests they went about breaking most of them anyway but it’s always nice to have things to do during the reception time, do click here to read more ideas to keep wedding guests entertained during this part of the day.

It was fun to take the couple off for wedding photos at Oxleaxe Barn and our walk-around took us over to the pond and willow trees and along the lane. In the evening we strolled across the meadow before the rain came down! The main barn was decked out wonderfully for the wedding breakfast and speeches were heart-felt and cheerful, ending with some rather jubious looking jelly shots!

With Antler Ceilidh Band giving guests a joyous old time in the Milling Barn for the evening it really was a great way to end the day. This was my time as an Oxleaze Barn wedding photographer, but I can’t wait to be back and capture more wedding day memories here soon!
