Intimate Ashridge House Wedding

Ashridge House Wedding Photography | Lara and Alex

Unknown for Lara and Alex a tumultuous ride was in store for their wedding plans! We’d had a great time at Hitchin Lavender for their pre-wedding shoot back in 2019 and were all set for the big day the following year. Like many others who had the unfortunate luck of choosing 2020 to get married trying to keep up with the latest guidance and lockdown measures meant there was a lot of extra admin and stress involved. But on their third date change it was finally time for the wedding to go ahead!

Ashridge House, with its roots in history as a royal residence to Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I, is an incredible venue with decadent spaces inside and sweeping landscaped gardens. The wedding ceremony was held in the breathtaking Lady Marian Alford room with its intricate detailing and panoramic views. Seeing the delight and relief on Lara and Alex’s faces as they tied the knot was brilliant. The wonders of technology meant the ceremony was live-streamed and Lara’s Dad and brother were able to deliver their speeches from Australia via the big screen.

We’re all back next year at Ashridge House for the big party! Here’s a little look at some highlights from their day.
