Awesome Autumn Wedding in Somerset!

Bella & George // Somerset

When a bride comes to you with the words, “I’ve been looking at every photographer in Somerset over the past couple of days and actually this has just confirmed for us how much we would love to work with you”, it is always a good start!

I began with bridal prep at the family home alongside make-up artist Georgia Chabrel and hair styling by South West Bridal Hair - the girls all looked fab, check out those colourful bridesmaids dresses! Florist Daisy Valentine added even more colour to the day with the bouquets and flowers throughout the venues. I caught up with George prior to the wedding ceremony at Wells Town Hall and the kind registrars who allowed me to stand near the front to get the best shots so I had a great view of proceedings. It is always nice to be up the front (although I do try and make myself as small as possible!) because looking back I can see not only the couple clearly, who in this case were well-lit by the large windows behind me, but I also get to see the faces of everyone present, which I think makes a much more interesting background! Following a raucous confetti line up outside, the bridal party went for some photos at the nearby Bishops Palace. I thought a slightly more styled group shot would work well for the ushers and bridesmaids in the grounds; this took only few minutes to arrange, but looks a bit more interesting then a traditional line-up.

Bella looked stunning in her dress by the Bridal Rogue Gallery and George was suave in a Paul Smith suit. After a wander with the newlyweds and a few couple shots, we all headed back to the marquee reception which was held at Bella’s family home. An acoustic set by one of my favourite bands, The Money, provided the perfect atmosphere, and with the drinks flowing and cornhole getting competitive, there were plenty of opportunities to capture guests doing their thing. The marquee by Abbas Marquees looked stunning and suppliers like Out of The Ordinary, Stella Hire, Rochesters and 88 Events filled it with all the required elements to make amazing inside.

Sunflower Kitchen Catering kept the guests well-fed and in between courses some brilliant speeches kept everyone entertained. The Money were back in the evening to kick off the music and Bella had changed into a party outfit to really be able let loose! A great day and night - a wedding to remember! Thanks for trusting me to capture your day Bella and George.
