Epic Winter Wedding at Hengrave Hall, Suffolk

Here is a wedding celebration at Hengrave Hall that will take some beating! Russian and English traditions met in a beautiful fusion of laughter and love for Anna and Dmitry’s December wedding.

Hengrave Hall in Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk is a stunning Tudor mansion house that sits in 350 acres of picturesque grounds. With its elegant grandeur and style, Hengrave is a romantic wedding venue which exudes class. You can accommodate plenty of your guests with its 27 bedrooms on site which allows the party to carry on late into the night!

All the preparations, civil ceremony and party were held at Hengrave Hall. Anna and her bridal party dazzled as they came down the aisle in the Great Hall, led by the cutest two flowers girls you ever saw. After the ceremony we were fortunate enought to have confetti outside before it rained. A few photos of the newly married couple in front of Hengrave’s impressive entrance and then it was time for drinks and the wedding breakfast. There were Russian traditions including lots of toasts to the newlyweds!

Celebrate in Style at Hengrave Hall

It really was a wonderful wedding day, full of love and laughter and with it being mid-December we even took over the chapel after dinner to bellow out some Christmas carols! There’s something quite special about winter weddings, with no pressure to have a perfect sunny day, (in fact, it rained pretty hard!) meaning everyone is happy to stay inside and with Dmitry’s Russian family ensuring that certain vodka drinking traditions were not forgotten, the celebrations carried long into the night!

“We got married in December and as soon as my husband proposed the only thing he stipulated was that we had Simon Biffen as our wedding photographer! This was the best decision we made! From start to finish Simon was a true professional and made us feel totally at ease.

He was patient and really got to the bottom of exactly what we wanted. He was flexible and always answered questions and emails promptly and honestly. He also helped with finding a videographer and helped us with band ideas which he had seen at other weddings!!

On the day he made myself and all the other bridal party completely feel relaxed, he was like an extended member of the family. His photos are totally beautiful. He captured so many amazing memories that we weren’t aware of especially into the evening. When looking back on them it is like we are everywhere at all times.
