Summer Wedding at Kingswood School Bath
It was so nice to shoot a wedding in my home city of Bath! Alexandra and Ben choose Kingswood Chapel in Bath for their wedding ceremony and nearby Summerhill Mansion for their wedding reception. This was all an easy choice of venue for the couple because Alexandra is a teacher at Kingswood!
I started the day catching up with Ben and his boys getting ready in Bath. There was plenty of joking around and it set the scene for the rest of the wedding day!
Kingswood School Chapel Wedding
This was my first experience as a Kingswood Chapel wedding photographer and I really loved the atmosphere in this historic building. Although it was July, never trust the British weather! There was a downpour as Alexandra and her bridal party arrived. Nothing to worry about however, particularly as there were plenty of bridesmaids on hand with umbrellas!
The ceremony in Kingswood Chapel was beautiful. There were smile all round as Alexandra made her way down the aisle accompanied by her Mum in lieu of her absent, but not forgotten father.
Summerhill Mansion Wedding Photographer
Following the marriage, the newly married couple made the short journey to another part of the school campus for the celebrations to continue. Summerhill Mansion is a classic Georgian House with a wonderful veranda that overlooks the lawn and has great views of Bath. The first floor was the setting for the wedding breakfast and party. I loved the 40s vintage harmony act who sang happiness into every corner of the room!
It was nice to get a little time just with the couple. I look to capture genuine moments between people. This is even more relevant when it comes to the so-called portrait or couple shoot. In fact, I prefer to think of this as an opportunity for the bride and groom to just hang out and have fun. I aim to take pictures that show what you are like together.
The partying was in full flow all night long and a sparkler tunnel at the end was a fitting send-off for the happy couple!
