Epic Summer Wedding at Coombe Lodge!

With the weather looking frankly horrible right now in December, I thought it’d be nice to get some warm vibes flowing with this corker of a Summer wedding at Combe Lodge! I first met Pippa and Ger at their pre-shoot in Richmond Park the previous October and got a good idea of how they were together, it’s an ideal opportunity to come away with not just images that are more informal and relaxed, but it’s a chance to see how I capture moments between you using my range of interactions and activities that help you forget about the camera and focus on each other.
I’ve said it so many times but it bears repeating, for me the feeling you had when a photo was taken is more important than how it looks. That’s because the two are connected, you can be posed and it can look great to outsiders who weren’t there, but for the people in the frame, if it was setup or staged then the experience is lost to the ‘look’. If however, the approach is one that allows you to be yourself, to relax with your partner, to forget about the camera and lose yourself in the moment then the moments captured are going to have so much more value to you and they will also look amazing because I can just do my thing and take great pictures of you! This is my goal every time I have a couple in front of me: to capture who they really are together and create images that are reflective of their relationship.
So back to Pip and Ger, the day was all held at Coombe Lodge from getting ready to party time. Perfect weather meant the outside ceremony was a green light and guests were able to see the two exchange rings and vows under a beaming Somerset sun. Drinks reception underway and it was a chance for candids of some of the characters at the wedding before group shots then taking the couple off for some time-out. Wonderful speeches that had plenty of well-aimed jokes as well as heartfelt words. With a lush golden hour due, and after having nailed their first dance, I took Pippa and Ger over to the nearby field to see the sunset and they really appreciated the time to re-connect with one another. Back into party mode with some lively moves and some super fireworks to top it all off. What a day, what a night, what a couple! Thanks for having me along for ride! Here’s a few highlights, enjoy!
