Kirsten & Matthew | Warwickshire Wedding

I had a blast capturing Kirsten and Matt’s wedding in Warwickshire back in June and was delighted to hear they wanted to be involved in giving some background for their blog. Here’s just a small selection of some of my favourites from the day.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN LIFE TO YOU? HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?

Love travelling to new places, keeping fit and healthy and relaxing with friends and family.

THE PROPOSAL: HOW DID IT HAPPEN, WHAT IS THE STORY?

Matt proposed to Kirsten in Porto, Portugal. Despite it being a toasty 25 degrees outside, he made up an excuse to pop back to their Airbnb to pick up his jacket, sat Kirsten down on the sofa and presented a ring box. Kirsten thought he was pulling her leg yet again so burst out laughing as she thought it was a joke. After a few mins, she realised he was being serious and naturally, she said yes!

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE MATTHEW’S FAMILY HOME AS YOUR VENUE?

The beautiful Warwickshire countryside and Matt’s stunning family home made it an obvious choice. We had our first dates in the Warwickshire countryside (clay pigeon shooting!) and wanted our family and friends to share the gorgeous surroundings

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SIMON BIFFEN TO PHOTOGRAPH YOUR WEDDING?

We were recommended Simon by Matt’s parents family friends who spoke very highly of Simon’s professional and authentic photography

WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE DID YOU WANT FOR YOUR GUESTS?

Relaxed, country-style wedding with a blend of our Scottish and English roots!

WHAT WERE THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM YOUR DAY?

Walking down the aisle in our local church and being married by our delightful vicar, Jane, in front of cherished friends and family. The speeches of course and the throwing of brides bouquet. Kirsten grossly overestimated the strength of her back throw and it flew over everyone’s heads and there had to be a take 2! The men became envious and decided to stage their own ‘groom bouquet throw’ which ended up in a rugby tackle! And of course, our first dance followed by the hilarious dad dancing on the dance floor!

ANY TIPS FOR FUTURE COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Remember that your wedding is the bringing together of two sides of families and friends so be open-minded and patient.
